Established in December, 2003, Chiang Mai's Writers Club and Wine Bar has become the city's unofficial press club and the favorite haunt of its “literati”.
You don't have to be writer to enjoy the Club's laid- back and friendly atmosphere. It helps, though, if you enjoy the good things of life – wine (fine vintages and carefully selected house wines at sensible prices), good food, mood music, and interesting company.
Here you will find innumerable newspapers and magazines plus a small library of reference books and solid literature that can be freely borrowed.
Country contacts keep the Club supplied with specialties like venison and wild boar, home- made cheese, hams and pickles. Daily specials include avocado and shrimp, fish and chips, Nuremberg sausages and scrumptious mash, cheese platters and asparagus and ham.
They also host twice- monthly writer's group meetings: the “Scribblers” have their informal session on the second Wednesday of each month, the more formal “Wordsmiths” meet on the last Wednesday.
Hours: Open Sunday to Friday 12a.m.- midnight.
Closed on Saturday.

Posted by coolChix, 20 February, 2008The Writers Club and Wine bar is a cool place to visit. Design of the bar was done tastefully and food and drinks are not expensive. I am so excited each time i go to this club, my spirits are always at its best.
