It is set up more than 25 years ago with an aim to promote and preserve the culture of the ancient northern kingdom of Lanna. Guests sit on floor cushions and are entertained by gracefully dressed Thai dancers.

Once seated, move on to enjoy genuine hill- tribe performances at the Hill- tribe Theater. At a very reasonable price each can get typical Northern Thai dishes which includes fried pumpkin, nam prik ong and kaeng haeng le on their table. Special vegetarian food is also available.

A classical orchestra accompanies the band of dancers in gorgeous costumes who mesmerize you with their performance. Fingernail Dance is usually performed only on special occasions. An ultimate dance is the Ramwong, or Circle Dance. This is a typical Thai folk dance that was popularized some 60 or 70 years ago. You can also join them.

Old Chiangmai Cultural Center offers a refreshing change of pace. The handicrafts, garments and musical instruments of the various tribes are displayed on stalls along the way should you wish to buy a memento of your visit.

Hours : 7p- 10p M- Su
