Mae Ping River Cruise

To feel the soul of Chiang Mai, take a journey along the Mae Ping River. An exotic boat takes you to a traditional farmhouse where kitchen herbs, fruit and vegetables are grown in the garden. The trip takes around two hours, with fruit and drinks provided. You may also opt for a tempting evening dinner on coast (6.30p) where you can enjoy your meal as you delight in the setting sun. Boats leave from the pier at Wat Chai Mongkol on Charoenprathet Road.

Enjoy the ever- changing river bank scene- resplendent teak houses, rural greenery and sunny- faced kids scrambling into the water. You can see for yourself the cultivation of jasmine rice and a variety of herbs for use both in medicine and cookery. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery around the river. The cruise lasts for a couple of hours. You will be taken on a long boat with covering which protects you from the scorching rays of the sun. You can watch locals using the river for bathing, washing clothes, fishing etc .
