Akha Mountain People Show

It is interesting way to discover hill tribe culture, as you will learn about the Akhas as well as the Lahu, Hmong, Yao, Lisu, and Pakoyo. It is well- worth making the three- hour trek north to the Golden Triangle as the journey itself is a treat. The entrance fee is THB280.

This exhibition is the easy way to know the culture and enjoy the new heritage of the country. Some special shows are also be organized for special occasions by tour operators, with a minimum package fee of THB15,000 per show, and there is seating for up to 300 persons The regular show is held once a month so check with the TAT for exact dates.

Akha people are famous for the hard work and patience.Akha people are usually of small stature, dark skin and fine delicate features. Despite their often difficult lifestyle, they have bright, twinkling eyes and a great sense of humor.

The Akha people are rightly famous for their very exotic and beautiful costumes, and can be seen in many towns in northern Thailand selling their unique handicrafts. They are not known for their shyness, and one can easily find oneself engaged in an animated bargaining session with these gregarious salespeople.
